The Nuclear Omnicide

In the 35 years since the March 28, 1979, explosion and meltdown at Three Mile Island, fierce debate has raged over whether humans were killed there. In 1986 and 2011, Chernobyl and Fukushima joined the argument. Whenever these disasters happen, there are those who claim that the workers, residents and military personnel exposed to radiation will be just fine.

Reflections on Fukushima from Nader to Chomsky & More...

The news from Japan three years after Fukushima began its eruptions is simple: it's anything but over.

Three molten radioactive cores are still missing, four explosions have wracked the infrastracture, 300 tons of radioactive water pour daily into the sea, the improvised tank farm leaks and is running out of space, tens of thousands of spent fuel rods are strewn around the site, the mafia permeates the work force, tens of thousands of refugees grow more desperate every day, radioactive cesium is about to arrive on the west coast ... and much much more.

Fasting for Fukushima

By Harvey Wasserman, Jill Stein & David Swanson

Fasting can be a way of mourning, of cleansing, of meditation, of focus.

On Tuesday, 3/11, the third anniversary of the beginning of the disaster at Fukushima, we will abstain from food from dawn til dusk.

Our purpose is tied to the atomic disaster that continues to threaten life on earth.

The USS Reagan is Fukushima's "Unlucky Dragon"

Sixty years ago this week, a misfired hydrogen bomb test plastered with lethal radiation the Japanese fishing boat Daigo Fukuryu Maru-"Lucky Dragon"-and its 23-man crew. The March 1, 1954, test, code-named Castle Bravo, spewed a deadly ash cloud into wrongly predicted winds, contaminating a huge swath of the Pacific Ocean.

Documents Show the Navy Knew Fukushima Dangerously Contaminated the USS Reagan

A stunning new report indicates the U.S. Navy knew that sailors from the nuclear-powered USS Ronald Reagan took major radiation hits from the Fukushima atomic power plant after its meltdowns and explosions nearly three years ago.

Obama's Nuke-Powered Drone Strike on America's Energy Future

So the "all the above" energy strategy now deems we dump another $6.5 billion in bogus loan guarantees down the atomic drain.

Energy Secretary Ernest Moniz has announced finalization of hotly contested taxpayer handouts for the two Vogtle reactors being built in Georgia. Another $1.8 billion waits to be pulled out of your pocket and poured down the radioactive sink hole.

A nuke-powered drone strike on fiscal sanity.

50 Reasons to Fear the Worst from Fukushima

[This is the first in a two part series]

Fukushima's missing melted cores and radioactive gushers continue to fester in secret.

Japan's harsh dictatorial censorship has been matched by a global corporate media blackout aimed-successfully-at keeping Fukushima out of the public eye.

But that doesn't keep the actual radiation out of our ecosystem, our markets ... or our bodies.

So Long, Pete & Toshi Seeger....

http://ecowatch.com/2014/01/28/pete-toshi-seeger-great-to-know-you/

Toshi and Pete Seeger defy description except through the sheer joy and honor it was to know them, however briefly.

Their list of accomplishments will fill many printed pages, which all pale next to the simple core beauty of the lives they led.

Toll Mounts Among U.S. Sailors Devastated by Fukushima Radiation

The roll call of U.S. sailors who say their health was devastated when they were irradiated while delivering humanitarian help near the stricken Fukushima nuke is continuing to climb.

So many have come forward that the progress of their federal class action lawsuit has been delayed. A petition in their support is posted here at www.nukefree.org.

Bay area lawyer Charles Bonner says a re-filing will wait until early February to accommodate a constant influx of sailors from the aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan and other American ships.
