NRC Accepts Entergy Proposal for Second Reactor

December 11, 2008
NEW ORLEANS (The Associated Press) - The Nuclear Regulatory Commission has accepted Entergy Corp.'s application to build a second nuclear reactor at its River Bend power plant
near St. Francisville.  The regulatory agency's action on Wednesday kicks off a 30-month review of the proposal.  Entergy has applied to build additional nuclear reactors at
River Bend Station and at its Grand Gulf plant in Port Gibson, Miss.

The company has not yet decided on whether to build either
plant, but said it needed to start the application process because of lead time.
