In its latest "Monthly Energy Review," the U.S. Energy Information
Administration reports that U.S. renewable energy production for the
first eleven months of 2008 totalled 6.745 quadrillion Btus (quads).
This represents an increase of 8.56% over the same period in 2007. Thus,
renewable energy accounted for 10% of total domestic U.S. energy
production (67.486 quads) for the first 11 months of 2008. By
comparison, nuclear power's contribution to total domestic U.S. energy
production dropped slightly from 7.663 quads to 7.645 quads during the
same period.
